CONSULTANT PLASTIC, RECONSTRUCTIVE AND AESTHETIC SURGEON
Welcome to my website. I hope you find it interesting and informative.
The following few paragraphs I hope will give you an overview of my professional background. It is extremely important that patients are fully informed of the credentials of the cosmetic surgeon they might be considering consulting with.
I have worked as a Consultant Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon since 1999 and currently work in the UK. I received an honorary appointment to the Academic Staff of the Hull York Medical School (HYMS). My role is one of Senior Clinical Tutor and involves teaching, research and curriculum development.
I undertook my initial training in Multan, Pakistan before going on to embark on specialist plastic surgery training in a number of locations including the UK, Ireland and America. I held junior positions in plastic and reconstructive surgery in the West Midlands, Northern Ireland and Yorkshire. My senior plastic surgery training was undertaken in Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland, Pakistan, the USA and the UK.
In 2000 I was privileged to take up the position of Honorary Assistant Professor in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the Nishtar Hospital & Medical College in Multan, Pakistan where, early in 1999 I had established the Plastic Surgery and Burns Unit before coming to the UK to work in the capacity of Consultant Plastic Surgeon. During my time at Nishtar Hospital I worked exclusively on a voluntary basis for the entire tenure.
I was elected as a Council Member of the British Association of Plastic, Reconstructive & Aesthetic Surgeons (BAAPS) in 2014. The purposes for which the Association was established are advancement of education in, and the practice of, aesthetic plastic surgery for public benefit. I am passionate about standard-setting within the fields of plastic and cosmetic surgery. BAAPS plays a major part in developing guidelines, and advising the government in this.
I am registered with the General Medical Council. I am a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons, a member of the British Association of Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons (BAPRAS) the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (BAAPS), the Pakistan Association of Plastic Surgeons and the British Society for Surgery of the Hand (BSSH).
I have regularly presented at national and international meetings and have in excess of 50 publications and presentations in the field of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery. I am also invited as a guest speaker to national and international academic meetings, to present my work.
I offer cosmetic surgery for individuals who wish to revise or change their appearance, structure or position of their features. The decision to undergo any cosmetic procedure should not be taken lightly and it is essential to have informed and realistic expectations of the results. Patients are always seen by me for initial consultation, when a plan of treatment & care is agreed, and for follow-up appointments. I undertake all surgical procedures myself, and often have other consultant plastic surgeons and trainee plastic surgeons observing my work. I provide the full range of cosmetic surgery, reconstructive procedures, hand and skin surgery. I have a particular interest in facial rejuvenation surgery i.e. face-lifts, eyelid surgery and nose surgery.
I hold Out-patient clinics and operating sessions at two long established private hospitals in the local area – the Spire Hull and East Riding Hospital (formerly BUPA and Classic Hospital) in Anlaby, East Yorkshire, and St Hugh’s Hospital, Grimsby, both of which are fully accredited with the Care Quality Commission.
I am supported by a dedicated team of professionals. The anaesthetists who work with me hold substantive consultant positions in the NHS and are members of the Royal College of Anaesthetists. They have a particular interest in cosmetic and reconstructive surgery, and have considerable experience in caring for patients undergoing such procedures. I have a small but dedicated team of staff, who liaise with my patients directly, in addition to the hospital staff. They deal with all the logistics of arranging appointments and surgery, and are very approachable.
